I was born in Goulburn Nsw in 1949 and moved to Albury in 1954, I went to the Christian Brothers at St Patricks Primary and then on to St Thomas Aquinas College, leaving in year 10 after obtaining the School Certificate. My first job was in the Bank of NSW, I joined in January 1966, just before decimal currency was introduced. I worked in the hotel industry for over twenty years, before operating my own retail and wholesale business with my wife and nephew. I am now retired and have a keen interest in Genealogy, researching the different strands of my family, I have been fortunate to have traced one side back to the late 1600's, and all but one side has convict connections. The earliest arrival on these shores was by Donald Kennedy, a convicted horse thief, who arrived aboard the " Royal Admiral " in 1792 as part of the Fourth Fleet. The earliest arrival of family in the Lavington area was circa 1847 by James Norris, his eldest daughter, Mary Ann, married William Livermore.
